Storybook Magic

Once upon a time, not so far away, there was a magical forest. This was a place where anything could happen, where imagination and laughter were everywhere, and where two very different animals could be the best of friends. One was a duckling, brave and silly, who adventured with the mushrooms and the meadows. The other was a mouse, shy and sweet, who preferred to rest with the flowerbeds and watch the clouds go by. The entire forest was the playground of these sweet friends.

This is a pattern collection designed for children’s apparel, inspired by fairytales I grew up with.  It is heavily influenced by my desire to slow down, and remember the everyday magic of childhood, where you could take the time to go outside and look for adventures in your surroundings.  It was a time where you could truly stop, slow down, and take it all in.

Stylistically I focused on the handmade nature of quilts and embroidery, and the humor and narrative of children’s books.
